Fly Eye Color Lab Results Fall 2013
WOW, what great results! Wish you could've been here when the samples were up under the black light. When the chromatography solution had run through the samples, I took pictures of them. I tried to take close-up pictures of each tube of chromatography paper under normal light. After each tube picture under normal light come the photos of the same tubes under the black light. You should be able to recognize your writing and find the correct tube for your group from the photos. Sorry I didn't find a means to label the tubes... oh well. Take a look anyway at our results below. They go in order from left to right, and sometimes scroll down to the next row. Nice job everyone.
Period 1 "Osmosis Cubes"
When I prepared the cubes, the agarose contained: phenolphthalein indicator as well as sodium hydroxide (strong base). Thus, when you placed them in the acidic solution, you should have observed the edges turning white (due to diffusion). Here are your photos. Feel free to include them in your lab report if you desire.
Floating Leaf Disk Lab (Photosynthesis Lab)
The next lab we will do is this photosynthesis lab. Please go to the link below and read the entire website in order to familiarize yourself with the procedure.
